Swimsuit season is just around the corner (although it might not feel like it with the weather we’ve been having!), and we know how hard it can be to shop for swimwear. Every once in awhile I’ll pop into Target and see the cute bikinis at the front of the store and take a few to the dressing room to try them on. Let’s just say it reminds me that I don’t have the body I had in college. 🙂 And even if I did, chasing 3 kids around the pool this summer in a tiny suit (have you seen the coverage, or lack of, in the bikini styles lately?!) doesn’t always seem appropriate. But lucky for us, one piece swimwear is having a moment! Whether you’re a 20-something college girl, a mom of young kids, or an empty-nester, there is a suit out there for you!
There are so many new details and silhouettes of one piece swimwear this year that we’re exited about. Details like cut-outs, scalloped edges, ruffles, crochet, zippers, and gathering, and silhouettes such as higher necks, boy-cut legs, and rash guards will make your suit stand out and comfortable for whatever body type you have.
We love shopping for swimsuits online at stores such as Nordstrom, JCrew, Athropologie, or Shopbop – we order a bunch of suits, try them on in the privacy of our homes (dressing room lighting can be terrible!), and send back those that don’t work.
